I don’t know if you agree with me but I think that the year 2024 has gone by so fast! The fact that there are only two weeks left in this year has not yet sunk in for me.

Most years, I really look forward to a new year. January, just like September is a month that can feel like a fresh start and hopefully, we feel ready to tackle all the new projects and things that lie ahead.

These last few years I have spent at home with our children so September and January haven’t brought many new projects but still, just taking some time to write down some thoughts and goals for the months that lie ahead is really something I like to do.

Let’s Celebrate The Good From Last Year

Something that I have been reminded of these last few weeks is that we should take time to celebrate the good things that happen. Sometimes I think I miss that part, when I achieve a goal I rapidly continue striving for the next one.

But there is so much joy in celebrating! Also, taking a moment to be thankful for blessings and things achieved is very good just to give glory back to God.

So let’s end this year, thanking God for everything he has done during this past year and asking him for direction for the year that lies ahead.

New Year Pictures To Color

In the last few years, we have published new coloring pages for the New Year. So this year is no different. 2025 still sounds very new to me, thinking that we actually are going into the year 2025 feels crazy!! But let’s embrace it and do some fun New Year crafts!

Feeling Refreshed For The New Year

Earlier years, now many years ago, I spent New Year at a Christian event where we used to start the new year on our knees. Humbling ourselves and giving God the glory for the new year is a good way to start a new year.

When we let God be our starting point of a new season we let our Lord and creator guide us into all the new things that lie ahead.

It might sound cheesy but for each year I like to ask God for a word for the year that lies ahead. The word for the year 2024 really impacted my whole year in so many ways.

At the start of 2024, I felt like I should focus on relationships instead of everything that needed to be done. So focusing on relationships instead of tasks has been my focus this past year.

Practically Implementing The Word

As I was home with my children I tried to keep my focus on them instead of the dishes and laundry. And when I was doing other kinds of things I tried to look around and be aware of the people around me and how I could connect with them.

During the time of vacations during summer, our family tried to catch up with friends and family and spend lots of time with each other and people around us.

It has been such a good year of many moments shared with old and new friends and some of the outcomes of this year have really come from all the moments that I have chosen to focus on relationships instead of all the tasks that also need to get done but that doesn’t need my primary focus.

I hope I can keep on living with that kind of focus in the year 2025 as well. But I also have a new word for this upcoming year that I want to apply.

A Word For 2025

The word I have for this next year is prayer. I think this upcoming year will be a year when I get to spend a lot of time in prayer, seeking God, and asking him for wisdom.

It’s been quite some time since I put more focus on prayer in my everyday life so I think this is greatly needed. I do look forward to a lot of time spent at the feet of Jesus.

And I hope that prayer will define the year 2025 as much as this past year really was affected by the word I got at the start of this year.

Wow! This Monday morning is just so beautiful here where we live. Last week we got a lot of snow and the temperature dropped to minus degrees. To be honest, I was not so excited about that. I am ready for spring!

But, luckily, the snow didn’t stay for long. Today, the snow has finally melted and the temperature is back up. The sun is shining. Now spring is back on track! 🙂

Getting to know God is such a life-changing process. God is so big, He is the creator of this universe and the one that loves you unconditionally. He is so so big and at the same time, he knows every person that he made so well. He sees the whole picture at the same time that he cares about your daily life.

Knowing our creator and letting him show us why he made us and for what purpose really opens up an opportunity to live closely to the one that brought us into existence. God wants to live closely with you! He wants to communicate with you throughout your day.

Entering A New Season With God

So as we are entering into spring and summer time we get to do it together with our creator.

I don’t know what this spring and summer will bring into your life. Maybe you continue doing the same things that you have been doing before or maybe you are entering into something new.

No matter what this season means for you remember that God wants to be there in the midst of it.

You were created by him so that you could live in a close relationship with him and do life together with him. You are not alone.

I think all of us when we have been out in nature, can agree that the earth God created is fearfully and wonderfully made.

It is a time when we can enjoy the things that we have sown and see how faithful God is.

God is always present, we need to remember to invite him in. He longs to be a part of even the smaller decisions we make every day. He cares about both the big things and the smaller things in life.

I think that it is so easy sometimes to make plans and then later on ask God to bless them but I have now understood that God wants us to seek him first, and he wants to guide us through life.
