March is here! Spring is here! Oh, how nice that is! This year we have had a very dark winter here in Sweden. I think we have had snow for maybe two weeks and the rest of the winter has been dark and wet.

Those kinds of winters are not my favorite. I would so much prefer a winter that is a little bit colder but with more snow. Just a little bit of snow makes things more bright.

So, after a winter like this, spring feels so welcome. Days are getting longer and I am looking forward to warmer days.

So, to celebrate that spring is coming, here are some coloring pages with flowers and others things specific to spring and summer.

In Swedish, there is no good translation for the word toddler. If you type in the word “toddler” in Google Translate the translation you get is a little child, “småbarn” in Swedish. But I think there should be a word for that stage of life in every language. It is such a special time, the time when a child isn’t a baby anymore but is still so small.

Right now our youngest daughter is soon to turn two and she is growing so fast in so many ways. It is a very fun time when her personality is starting to show more and more clearly. It is also a time when she is getting more decisive and she now knows very well what she wants.

In the last few months, she has also started to show interest in coloring and drawing. She likes to sit with her older siblings around the kitchen table, grab different colors, and do some coloring on a sheet of paper.

The Creativity In Toddlers

It is so clear that she already enjoys being creative and seeing something take form. She is often very proud of the drawings she makes. Compared with her older brother who is four years old, who so often gets frustrated with the thing that he is coloring if it doesn’t turn out exactly as he planned, she is very much just enjoying the time coloring not caring so much about the result.

Toddlers are just starting to learn how to hold a crayon or a pen and usually, they are quite happy just to see the different colors that they fill the paper with. The First Signs Of Spring

One of the early signs of spring is definitely the birds that start to sing. At least here in Sweden where we live, many birds migrate during winter so when spring comes birds are coming back up north and you can hear how the birds start to sing again.

So among some coloring pages specifically for spring I thought we had to include a bird. The bird in the coloring page here above is sitting on a branch with leaves. Even if we here where we live as I said earlier, now actually have the ground covered with snow we can see some leaves starting to show on some trees. So spring will come soon.

Spring is here!! It is beautiful, this year I have really been looking forward to the warmer days and some more sunshine.

Our family moved to a bigger apartment during the last months, it has been a lot of work and both me and my husband have been feeling overwhelmed and tired.

So, some more sunshine is definitely welcome. It is giving us a boost of energy and we are so grateful for everything that God has blessed us with.

As with every season, it is very fun to also take the chance to do some season-specific crafts and we like to make some season-specific coloring pages as we enter a new season so here are some easy coloring pages for spring.

Springtime is a beautiful time! Slowly everything comes to life again. It is truly such a joy to watch.

Our six-year-old is waiting on the flowers to bloom and has been waiting for quite some time now, as we got a couple of weeks of snow now at the end of March and the beginning of April.

But the last couple of days have been sunny and warmer so the wildflowers are slowly growing.

It is so sweet to experience life together with children when the seasons are changing because they are so excited. It’s hard not to be swept into the way that they see things.

Children are really good at stopping and seeing the things around them. When snow is falling, they get excited about that, and when flowers start to grow they stop and take their time being amazed by them.

During these last few years when I have lived life together with small kids, they have taught me to slow down and enjoy the beautiful things around me.

As seasons change, and we enjoy that, we also know, God stays the same! He is so so faithful!

God Is Faithful When Season Change

“Let us acknowledge the Lord;
    let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
    he will appear;
he will come to us like the winter rains,
    like the spring rains that water the earth.””

Hosea 6:3

This verse reminds us about God’s faithfulness. God is so faithful, even in times when we don’t deserve it.

The words in Hosea 6:3 were written after a time when Israel had been walking in disobedience and they had to suffer the consequences of that.

But even in that time, Hosea reminds them of God’s faithfulness and grace.

As we have been celebrating Easter, we have all been reminded of the grace of God. He gives second chances and offers new life to us who actually don’t deserve it at all.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

2 Corinthians 5:17

As the spring rains and flowers come, we get to be reminded of God’s faithfulness. The old has gone and the new is here, for those who choose to believe.

Honestly, I think I never will grow so old that I won’t enjoy doing some coloring. Coloring is one of my favorite activities to do with our kids. Our kids also really enjoy it.

I have noticed that not all kids are as enthusiastic about coloring as our kids are, but if you are a little bit like me and like to do something creative with your hands and you have an intense day with your kids, I would suggest that you try to do some coloring together. It can be a calm and relaxing way to spend some time together.

These two coloring pages have two different difficulty levels so that you can choose which one is suitable for you! The second one, which has thinner lines is a fun challenge for older kids and adults. 🙂
