This week we are visiting my family in Finland for Christmas, and our expectations were that we would go skiing. However, a couple of days before we arrived, the little snow on the ground melted away. So there is no snow at all at the moment.

So now we are hoping for some colder days as we go back to Sweden. Hopefully, we will get some snow this winter as well.

But as we are waiting, we can at least do some Winter themed coloring.

Snowy Coloring Pages

Holidays often mean traveling for our family. One of the activities that we pack for our children when we travel is often some coloring pages and coloring pens. Coloring has a calming effect on most children.

I think we, as adults, can feel the same thing that doing something creative can be relaxing.

When we travel, our kids always seem to have a lot of energy, and at times it can be hard to know how to help them relax, sometimes coloring works really well.

These coloring pages were designed through Canva. If you like coloring and havn’t tried to make your own coloring pages through Canva yet, there is something fun to try.

Using canva to make coloring pages can be a fun thing to involve your children in, as well, if they like to decide what kind of coloring pages they want to color.

These last months, we have published a lot of knitting content on this website, but I saw that some of our winter coloring pages are popular on Pinterest right now, so I thought we would take a break from knitting this week and publish some coloring pages instead.

Tomorrow is the first day of December and officially Winter is here!

These last days the snow has been falling here where we live and finally it is actually sticking to the ground. Last night we went sledding with our children for the first time. It was such a fun time!

We are really looking forward to more days like that enjoying the snow!

In this blog post, there are some free printable coloring pages for winter with snowflakes, but first I want to tell you this fun thing that happened earlier today!

This Has Never Happened Before

I just have to tell you! Today I had this really (for me) crazy experience! I have been making these free printable coloring pages for three years now.

In the first months, I made every coloring page with text both in Swedish and English, but as life got busier I could not keep up and now I publish them only in English.

Anyhow, this morning, I went to my oldest daughter’s school in the morning and as we were putting her jacket away I saw one of my old coloring pages printed out and colored in the hallway.

Some teacher in her school had found my coloring page online and printed it out for the kids to color. I’m quite sure they have no idea who designed the coloring page, it was just so fun to see that these coloring pages are used and that some people actually enjoy them. 😀

As I saw the coloring page I had to look twice, because I had never seen one of our coloring pages just randomly like that in a place I didn’t expect it.

Having a website, publishing free printables, and writing a blog sometimes feels a lot like just one-way communication. So seeing that people actually enjoy the things we publish was a big encouragement to me!

So thank you, teacher, for choosing our coloring page for the kids! 😀

How To Color Snowflakes

When it comes to coloring, I would say that there is no right or wrong.

Anyhow, if you are around smaller kids you know that there are questions about almost anything.

So if you stumble over this question of how to color snowflakes, I would say that there is no snowflake that looks like another. They are all unique.

Snow is white when it lies on the ground. When you see the sunlight reflecting on it it can shimmer in all kinds of different colors.

Feel free to be very creative on how to color these coloring pages.

As snow is very glittery when the sun is shining, you could also make it fun by adding some glitter to the coloring page in the end.

Winter Bible Verse

“As the rain and the snow
    come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
    without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
    so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
    it will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
    and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

This verse about snow reminds me of God’s intention with His words. God’s word has the power to change lives and communities.

My prayer is that I would allow God’s word to change my life! I don’t want to conform any longer to the pattern of this world.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Romans 12:2

When we let God’s Word transform us, we will know God’s will, His good, pleasing and perfect will!

I pray that God’s word always would have the final say in my life.

Going into a new year it feels like a fresh start. I really hope that 2024 will be a year when God’s word won’t return without achieving the purpose for which He sent it.

God’s Creativity Is Limitless

God creates with such perfection. God created all different kinds of birds differently so that they can live in different places around the globe in different kinds of weather and temperatures.

In the same way, God created us uniquely. We are all equipped a little differently. We have different gifts and personalities. Some things that feel hard to do for some people come naturally for others.

I once heard that you can find the things that God is calling you to in the things that come easy to you. God is our creator, he had plans for your life before you were created.

Knowing our creator makes it possible for us to understand who we are and what his purpose for our lives is. It is impossible to know who we are made to be without knowing who he is.

God has so many good plans for you. He longs to have a close relationship with you and show you why he made you and what purpose he has for you.

You are loved, you are seen and you are equipped.

Some of the birds that chose to stay in colder countries during winter are small and looking at their outer appearance maybe we could think they would be better off in warmer places. But they are confident and know that they are equipped for winter.

God has equipped you in a specific way so that you can thrive and bless the people around you.

As you might have noticed there is a section on this website where you can see pictures of accessories that we make. The whole idea behind those accessories is to remind us of who we are and who God is.

One fabric that we published a couple of years ago had birds on it flying in a storm. I will see if I can find a picture of it to show you and insert it below.

I am impressed with how some birds stay in the Scandinavian countries during the winter. Some birds live through tough circumstances, with cold temperatures, snow, and wind.

For me, these birds are a reminder that God equips and provides.

I have seen this in my own life and in people around me. God tests our character before he trusts us with new things. When we are faithful in the small things God trusts us with greater things.

God wants to lead you into great things. But most likely you will need to press through hard times even if you are walking in the calling that God has given you.

Sometimes I think we believe the lie that if we walk in the things God has called us to, life should be easy but that is not the truth. God has promised to be with us but He has not promised us a life without trials.

Snow is one of the things that remind us of the way God creates. God creates every snowflake in a unique way and they are all so so beautiful. There is no limit to God’s creativity, thinking about all the snowflakes that are so detailed and unique.

When you see a landscape covered with snow, you don’t see the small individual snowflakes, they could all look the same, and wouldn’t really affect the beautiful view if they were…

… but they are not! Every snowflake is unique. They all look beautiful but in their own unique perfect way.

Same thing about the trees. Every tree is unique. And every leaf on those trees is unique.

And the same thing is true about us people. Every nation is unique. And every individual in those nations is unique.

God creates with so much variety and he creates so beautifully. He has a reason for making every one of us unique. We are all made in his image and we all reflect him in different ways.

You are so special in his eyes. He made you unique for a reason. You can reflect him in a way no one else can.

You can also bless people around you in a very unique way. You have a personality and gifts that no one else has.

Sometimes I think we work so hard on to fit in and compare ourselves to others but we are all meant to be unique.

Here in Sweden where we live, winter is still having a grip on the weather. A part of me just longs for longer days and warmer months, but those days are still not here so I try to enjoy this season the best I can.

One thing I love about winters has always been the snow. Snow is so beautiful and it gives us a lot of opportunities to do fun activities, building snowmen, skiing and so on.

Snowflakes are also so beautiful. It’s amazing how every snowflake is unique. That for sure tells us a lot about God’s creativity.

The landscape a sunny winter day can be so beautiful. And also looking at every small snowflake, seeing how detailed they are it really reminds us of how detailed God is in everything he creates.

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.”

The Details Of A Snowflake

The name of this website “Underbart Skapad” are the Swedish words for wonderfully made. The truth that God creates in a beautiful way, so wonderfully and fearfully, is what got us started with this website.

God is such an amazing creator. He is so creative and he puts so much detail into everything he makes.

Just as every snowflake is so detailed, God puts the same amount of creativity in everything he creates.

God made you with so much intention. He knows every detail in you and thinks that you are perfect.

He longs for having a deep relationship with you. He made you with so much purpose. When we get to know our creator we understand who he is and why he made us.

You were created in a way so that you can communicate with your creator. We all are created to be in a close relationship with our creator, I think that is a reason to why many describes an emptiness when they are not connected to God.

So, remember that God wants to be close to you. We can be honest with him, he wants to be involved in every part of our lives.
