December is coming closer and where we live autumn has changed to winter. This past weekend we got a lot of snow and that makes Christmas feel a lot closer. The snow is so welcome, it brightens up the dark days of November a little bit.
This time of year is a very special time when we get to celebrate one of the greatest things that have ever happened, the birth of Jesus.
“But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”

God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son so that we wouldn’t perish but have eternal life. God sent his son to save the world. We were saved by Jesus.
Christmas is a beautiful time when we get to remember that Christ actually was born to be a human on this earth. He came to save us.
God’s love for you is greater than your understanding. God loves you so so much.
God sees you and longs to have a personal relationship with you. Jesus, being born, living on this earth, and dying for all our sins is the greatest way for God to show his love for you.

After December, comes the new year. God has so many good things in store for you in 2023!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 29:11-13
These words were spoken to the Jews during hardships. They were living in exile, they had been forced to leave their homeland and settle in a foreign country. The people were living in hardship and we can imagine that they were longing for immediate rescue. That rescue did not happen that fast, the exile actually lasted for about 70 years.
Still, in that time, God promised them a future with hope!
This coming year will not always be easy, but as we choose to seek God he wants to show us his plans to prosper us and give us hope and a future.
So, as you enter this new year, know that God has good plans for you. God is faithful, no matter how the circumstances around us are.
