Summer Knit Top – Knitting In Cotton
Knitting is a hobby I usually tend to pick up when days are getting darker and colder in the fall. There is something so cozy with knitting and I have always knitted mostly in wool. But during the last couple of years I have tried a few projects in cotton as well. I think it was Kutovakika actually that sparked my interest in knitting in cotton yarn and that opened up this whole new world of knitting garments that aren’t only meant for winter. If you are looking for knitting inspiration a good tip is to subscribe to Kutovakika on YouTube. Here is a link to her channel: https://www.youtube.com/@Kutovakika Right…

Things To Knit With Scrap Yarn – Striped Socks
I think all knitters have the same problem. Even if we try to not have a lot of scrap yarn lying around, we all end up having some of it and it can be hard to know what to do with it. A couple of weeks ago I was visiting my parents and I looked through the scrap yarn my mom had. Knitting something with her scrap yarn feels more fun for some reason than knitting with the yarn I have at home. 😉 I ended up with a lot of different colors in the same type of sock yarn and decided to knit some striped socks with them. Thing…

How To Overcome Fear Of Failure – Remembering Who God Is
Fear of failure is one of the things that can keep us from stepping into things that we want to pursue but that feel too big for us at the moment. Here are some thoughts about how to overcome fear of failure, and not letting fear dictate our lives. Over the years I have been blessed to walk alongside many wise people who really have helped me to analyze why I make the decisions I make. I think we sometimes don’t really reflect on why we make the decisions we make. Fear is one of these things that all of us experience but it’s triggered by different things for different…

Butterfly Origami – Origami Out Of Printer Paper
Folding origami out of printer paper that you color yourself is one way to make origami a little bit differently. My husband and his father are both really talented in folding origami. They both have the patience and fascination for that and can fold a lot of different animals. Right now my husband’s parents are visiting from Colombia and we spend a lot of time as a family with them. During the last couple of weeks I have been reminded of the fact that they are very good at folding origami. I am a person that likes to do creative things but when it comes to origami I only have…

Who Do You Say I Am – Encouraging Easter Bible Verses
“Who do you say I am?” was one of the questions that Jesus asked his disciples. This is a question that really has the power to form our worldview. Our view of who Jesus is has the potential to change our lives. Easter is a time when we remember what God did for us. Who Jesus is, is a central part of the power in the Easter story. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”John 3:16 We can read in the Bible about how God sent his son to earth so that whoever believes in…

Thy Word Is A Lamp Unto My Feet – A Verse That Challenges Me
Here are some thoughts on the verse “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet” that has been challenging me lately. “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”Psalm 119:105 This Bible verse from Psalm 119 has been on my mind quite a lot these last few months. A podcast I listened to last year pointed out to me that the lamp that was used during the time that this Psalm was written only gives light for a few steps ahead. I think that we often these days are so used to street lights that light up the whole path before us. It’s not that often that we…

11 Bible Verses About The Goodness Of God
Here are some Bible verses about the goodness of God to remind us that God has our very best interest in mind. Learning to trust that God really is who the Bible says he is, has the power to change the way we live our lives. If we truly to our core believe that God is all-knowing and has our very best interest in mind, it’s easy to invite him, not only when life is tough but also to go first to him with both small and bigger decisions we need to make. I was once challenged with the question: Do you really believe what you believe that you believe?…
