Encouraging Bible Verses

Bookmarks With Bible Verses – Faith Over Fear

Here are some bookmarks with Bible verses that help you remember what is true.

Last week we published a blog post about choosing faith over fear. “Fear not!” are words that are all over the Bible. God knew that we all would struggle with fear so he knew we needed to hear those words.

If you didn’t read last week’s blog post I leave a link here so you can go read that first: https://underbartskapad.com/bible-verses-about-faith-over-fear/

“For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!””
Romans 8:15

You did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of adoption as sons.

In last week’s blog post, we read through a few different Bible verses about choosing faith instead of fear so I highly encourage you to go read that blog post first.

Getting Our Minds Renewed

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:2

Romans chapter 12 verse 2 tells us not to conform to the pattern of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our mind.

The word of God is so full of wisdom and when we choose to believe that we are who God says we are and that he is who he says he is, we start living the life that he created us for.

God sees you as a son/daughter and he has so many good thoughts for you and your future. God knows the plans he has for you. God is not confused about why he made you or why are are here on earth right now in the place where you live.

Letting The Word Of God Transform Us

Reading the Bible every day is a way of letting it transform us. Many times it is easier to let the truth become a part of the way we view life when we process it in different ways.

That is why you will find many free printables with Bible verses on different subjects on this website that you can print out and use in creative ways to let God highlight new aspects of his thoughts for you.

You are so valuable in his eyes. God has so much that he wants to show you about who he is and why he made you.

Bookmarks with Bible Verses – Faith Over Fear

Here are some free printable bookmarks with Bible verses on the subject of last week’s blog post about choosing faith over fear.

Our daily small choices define the direction that we are walking in. Our thoughts will affect the choices we make so filling our mind with the truth and choosing to have a positive way of thinking about the future is very powerful.

“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.”
1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love. Perfect love casts out fear. When we know that we are deeply loved by our heavenly father it transforms us.

I have also realized that in the moments we feel insecure, when we choose to shift our focus from ourselves and focus on how to love the people around us, the insecurities fade away.

So a good way to not let fear of man make us insecure is to focus on loving the people around us, to choose to focus on others instead of ourselves.

“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
2 Timothy 1:7

Knowing that God didn’t give us a spirit that makes us timid, but gives us power, love and a self-discipline keeps us from falling into fear.

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
Psalm 56:3

Times when we are afraid and that triggers fear will come. We all will face times that are hard and challenging. When we know God as a Father we get to run to him when life is hard. Just as children run to their parents when they get hurt we get to run to God.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
John 14:27

Perfect Takes Practice

Sometimes I think we really need to choose to put ourselves in situations that trigger our fears in order to overcome them. Practice makes progress.

Last year our oldest daughter learned how to swim. Our three-year-old son saw her swimming and with great confidence, he took off his inflatable arm puffs and jumped into the pool. Seeing his sister swim without arm puffs looked so easy. How hard can it be?

So he jumped in and quickly realized that swimming takes some practice.

Sometimes I think that we think that way about the truths of the Bible. We listen to an inspiring sermon in church and in that moment we feel very confident in that we will be able to apply the new things we learn as we walk out the church doors.

Is God Still Good When Our Circumstances Are Hard?

But sometimes it isn’t that easy to live confidently without fear when the challenges in life come our way. When life feels hard and complicated do we still believe that God has our best interest in mind?

When God didn’t answer our prayers like we thought he would, do we still believe that he is all-powerful?

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Psalm 23:4

Can we, just like David, still say that God is our comfort when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death?

When we really know God for who he is, good, almighty, and loving, we can trust in him even when life is hard.
