Motivational Wallpaper – Stop Scrolling – Summer Edition
Last year, I made a background for my phone that said Stop scrolling – do this instead with some images on activities that I could do instead of being on my phone. I remember it was during a season that I was really busy as a mom and I had to find some time every day to recharge. It is so easy to use the little time that we are given to spend as we wish on our phones. Stop Scrolling Motivational Wallpaper I think I need a reminder of not spending the few minutes I get in the evening when the kids are sleeping on my phone, so I…

Easter is here, and I got in the mood to cast on something fun and fast for Easter week. As I had some yellow yarn in my yarn stash, I decided to start knitting yellow socks for our youngest child. Knitting for our children always makes a faster project, and lately, our children have been very happy when they realize that I am knitting for them. That has definitely not always been the case, especially since our son has been so upset with itchy yarns but lately, he as well has started to put in orders on things he would like me to knit for him. That is so nice!…

Knit Beanie Patterns – FREE Knitting Patterns
Hats or beanies, to be honest, I think it’s hard to know what word to use. Is there a correct word for “mössa” in English? If you have an opinion, please leave a comment. Anyhow, knitted beanies or hats are quite easy to make. When I was around 15 years old, I knitted a beanie that I used a lot. It was the first knitted piece I made with a braided pattern. And I really liked that hat! I wore that beanie soo many times! After that, the same thing has happened twice, that I have knitted a beanie that I have liked so much that I have ended up…

Easy Knitted Hat – FREE Pattern
Knitting a hat can be a fun project for beginner knitters. This knitted hat is one of the first hats I knitted. I actually knitted it for my husband, but I have worn it a lot too. Easy Knitted Hat Pattern This hat is made with yarn suitable for needles size 3,5. I used yarn made of wool, you can choose the material you prefer. If you choose to use a yarn made of wool, it’s good to choose merino wool, for example, or another wool yarn that isn’t itchy. If a hat is itchy, I can feel it on my forehead when I’m wearing it, and it makes me…

Mittens For Toddlers – FREE Knitting Patterns
I don’t know if it’s just our children, but all of our children have gone through a phase when they haven’t wanted to use any mittens or gloves or anything on their hands, even in the most cold weather. I guess that is okay on a chilly fall day, but as the days get colder and the snow starts falling, it has been a real struggle to keep our childrens’ hands warm at times. The mittens that they have accepted the most are mittens that are really simple, like these mittens below. Basic Knitting Pattern on Mittens For Toddlers These mittens are knitted on four double-pointed needles and are quite…

Snowy Coloring Pages 2026
Here are some snowy coloring pages that are made through Canva and that are free to download and color for personal use. This week we are visiting my family in Finland for Christmas, and our expectations were that we would go skiing. However, a couple of days before we arrived, the little snow on the ground melted away. So there is no snow at all at the moment. So now we are hoping for some colder days as we go back to Sweden. Hopefully, we will get some snow this winter as well. But as we are waiting, we can at least do some Winter themed coloring. Snowy Coloring Pages…

Northern Lights Mittens + FREE Knitting Chart Maker
I have found out a way that makes designing knitting charts for colorwork so much easier! Last year in December, I published a blog post with charts on how to knit Nordic Christmas stockings. I remember I made the charts in Photoshop, and it took so much time to make them. Here is the link to that blog post: https://underbartskapad.com/nordic-christmas-stocking-free-knitting-patterns/ In that blog post, you can see the charts on how to combine the different colors to knit the colorwork pattern. In March, I was back in Finland, and we could enjoy some really cool Northern lights, and out of that came the idea of knitting a pair of mittens…
