Identity in Christ
Having our identity in Christ, what does that really mean?
When we hear the word identity some of us might think about our passport, while others think about something they identify themselves with or a lifestyle. Some of us maybe think about which family we come from and others think about what organization they work for.
A few years ago I was asked the question “Who are you?”. I was not allowed to say anything about where I came from or what I worked with. I was confused. I did not know what to say.
Here in Scandinavia, we have this thing that we often do and that is asking people what they work with. If we meet a new person, we quite soon ask the person what they do for a living. That is not the case in all cultures. But, being born and raised in Scandinavia I have tied my identity quite much to what I work with, that is not the case for everyone from here but I think I am not the only one from this part of the world that tends to do so.
Knowing what having my identity in Christ means hasn’t always been easy for me.
The Bible tells us a lot about who God made us to be. In this category of our blog we focus on different aspects of being a daughter/son to the One that created the whole universe. Getting to know who God and understanding who He is, also teaches us a lot about who we are.
Let’s learn together how we can live a life fully aware of what we were created for and who we were made to be.
