At the beginning of June, we celebrate our youngest daughter’s birthday. This year she turned three. It is crazy to think how fast years fly by. The saying “days are long but years are short” might sound like a cliche but it is very very true.
We don’t have a baby anymore in our house. That thought is slowly sinking in. I guess our daughter technically hasn’t been a baby for a couple of years already but I think something happens when children turn three. They suddenly start playing a lot with kids their age and they are communicating so well with words.
I am really looking forward to this next year of our daughter’s life!
Our daughter’s birthday was celebrated with a cake with friends in my sister’s garden. It was a very windy but also a very nice day to celebrate our daughter’s life.
A Month With Many Birthday Parties
Apart from our daughter’s birthday, our other daughter has also celebrated a couple of her friend’s birthdays. June seems to be a pretty common months for birthdays.
Birthday cards are one part of birthdays that can be a fun thing to make yourself. A handmade card is a sign of care and it is easy to make it personal.
Even if it is fun to be creative and make cards it can also be time-consuming so sometimes it can be nice to find ways to make something yourself but in a more simple way.

These birthday cake coloring pages were made in Canva. Canva can be a fun tool to use to make your own coloring pages. Most of the coloring pages that we have published on our website are designed by us in Photoshop but I have to say that Canva also is a really effective tool for designing coloring pages.
Why Don’t Our Children Like Cake?
Cake, cake, cake. On some birthdays we have skipped making a cake altogether just because our children seem to not like cake that much. Chips, candy and ice cream are big favorites but for some reason, they don’t like cake much.
This year, though, I thought I would mix some of our daughter’s favorite things into a cake and that she might like that but nooo. That did not work. But at least our guests got to eat some cake. 😉

In our house, both I and my children really enjoy coloring. I think you never grow too old for coloring. Coloring is one of the most relaxing activities I know.

We hope that you have gotten a good start on this summer! In our little corner of the world, it feels like the summer hasn’t really started. Today was a really rainy day and even if it is warm in the sun the really hot days are yet to come.
I guess they will come soon, looking forward to that! As we are still in June there are a lot of weeks left of this summer.
