Here are some free bookmark coloring pages for you!

We are in the midst of summer here where we live, and that means that many people are out in their summerhouses and the pace of life has slowed down.

Our family has a couple more weeks of vacations and the pace of life is a little bit slower than usual for us as well.

That is with an emphasis on a little because we do have three kids seven years and younger so life doesn’t really get that slow in this season of life. 😉

But we are enjoying the opportunity to meet friends and to do things together as a family.

One thing that I really wanted to do during this summer was to read books and I am really happy that I actually have succeeded in reading two books this far and I hope I will keep up that pace.

Reading was always a part of summer when I was younger but these last years I have really not read a lot of books at all.

I think I have told myself that I am too busy to read books but I have also realized that I feel much more refreshed after reading a book than scrolling on my phone. So this summer my goal is to do less scrolling and read more books.

I hope I will succeed in taking that new habit into fall when that time comes.

Free Bookmark Coloring Pages

Talking about scrolling…

When I do scroll on my phone I often find myself lost in Pinterest.

So.. a couple of weeks ago when I was on Pinterest I saw a pin of some really cute crocheted bookmarks that I would love to crochet at a time when life is less busy but as I saw them I got the idea of making some coloring pages of a size of a bookmark that you can print out on a thicker paper and keep in a book as a bookmark.

That idea did not require that much time to make happen so here down below is a free printable sheet with three bookmarks to cut out.

A Nice Activity When You Are Traveling

Apart from reading, this summer has also been a summer of a lot of traveling for our family. Our family has visited both my husband’s family in Colombia and my family in Finland. We have spent so many hours on airplanes, trains, and in the car.

When we are traveling this much I am thinking a lot about activities that we can have for the kids as we are traveling.

As parents of small children, we don’t have much time to read books or watch movies when we are traveling but it is so good for our children to have some creative activities to do when we are on the road, or in the air. 😉

Having a coloring page as a bookmark could be a nice activity when you are traveling if you have older kids or for yourself. I think I would find it really relaxing to do some coloring when I am in a plane or on a train.

So you could print out these bookmarks and finish the coloring before placing it in you book or you could bring it in a book that you are reading and finish coloring it later.

Memorizing Scripture – Bookmark With Bible Verse

“God is our refuge and strength,
    an ever-present help in trouble.”

One of the bookmarks here above has a Bible verse. If you are trying to memorize a specific Bible verse, having a bookmark with the Bible verse in a book you are reading or in your calendar can really help you to keep that Bible verse in mind.

This summer I have been trying to memorize Psalm 91. Memorizing scripture, or anything else for that matter, has never been very easy for me so I am doing my best but it takes time for me to get words to stay in my mind.

So I need any help I can get when I try to memorize something. Reading out loud has been my latest strategy, and I think that has helped a little bit.

But anyway, If you find memorizing things easy, please leave me some tips in the comments. I really see how valuable it is to have scripture memorized when life gets busy and challenging and we need wisdom for the situation we are in.
