“I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.””
Genesis 9:13-16
“I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” The rainbow is a reminder of the everlasting covenant between God and us.
This past weekend we talked about the rainbow at Sunday school. The rainbow is such a cool element in creation.
How cool isn’t it that there is a thing that appears in the sky regularly that reminds us of God’s promise to never again flood the earth as it was flooded during the time of Noah?
Not only is it a reminder to assure us that life won’t be destroyed in such a way never again. It is also a reminder that God always keeps his promises.

“Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and your dominion endures through all generations.
The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises
and faithful in all he does.”
Psalm 145:13
The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does! God will always keep his promises.
Scripture is full of promises. God is such a faithful God!
In Romans 8:38-39 we can read that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future can separate us from his love. God will always love you! No matter what comes your way!
“Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.”
Hebrews 10:19-23
When we draw near to God with sincere hearts and with full assurance that faith brings we will have our bodies washed with pure water. We will be invited to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus.
We are invited to a close relationship with God. He will always love us and long to be close to us as we through the blood of Jesus are forgiven and made new.
God longs to be close to you! He longs to spend time with you every day. He wants to show you more about his love for you and the purposes of your life!
God is faithful! All the promises in scripture are still true!
So when you see the rainbow, remember that God loves you, he sees you and he is the creator of the universe and he keeps his promises.
You will never be left alone or forsaken. He will always love you! He was and is and always will be the one that wanted you! He wanted you so he created you, to be in a relationship with him and reflect who he is to the people around you!
So we hope you will have a wonderful week and that you will have a fun time coloring!
