Bible Verses About Purpose
Here are some Bible verses about purpose as an encouragement to you.
Your Life Has A Purpose!
There is a reason why you are here on this earth! God is calling you into living in His purpose for your life! God created you like he did for a reason! We all are unique and get to reflect God in unique ways!
Psalms 139:13-14
“For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.”
God created you in such a fearful and wonderful way. He knows you so well. God wanted to create this earth and he wanted you to exist. God knit you together in your mother’s womb.
I like how David states at the end of verse 14 that he knows full well that God created him in a fearful and wonderful way. God made you in a fearful and wonderful way!
When God sees you He is so happy with who you are and how he made you.
I don’t know if you just like David easily can say that you know that God made you in a wonderful way but you can be sure that God wants to show you how He sees you. You are so precious in his eyes.
Everything God creates is made with so much intention and purpose.
Knowing Who We Are We Get To Bless Others and Give Glory To Our Creator
“So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
1 Corinthians 10:31
In everything we do we get to give glory to our creator. God is the reason why we exist and he has many good thoughts and plans for us.
Our identity as sons/daughters to our heavenly Father is a big part of our purpose. We are also invited into living in a way that gives glory to God and we get to bless the people that we are surrounded with.
When we read the Bible we can see that there are some things that all of God’s children are called to.
God’s Purpose For Your Life
There are many bible verses about purpose in scripture.
God made us so that we can have a relationship with Him
”God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
1 Corinthians 1:9
We are called into fellowship with Jesus. A firm foundation for our life comes from spending time with our creator. We were created in a way so that we can communicate with him.
Our relationship with God is the foundation of our lives. God wants to communicate with us and show us His heart for us and the people around us.
We are called to bring people closer to Him
”Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18-20
We are called to take care of the creation
”Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
Genesis 1:26
God created this earth and we get to take care of it.
Whatever career we have in life, loving God and loving people, gives purpose to the things we do!
We are all equipped in unique ways! He created you in a specific way for a reason!
”Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:10
God has Equipped You
You are so gifted! Weather you see it and believe it or not, you are so gifted! God created you in a way so that you will be able to bless others with the giftings He gave you.
But it is not always easy to know our strengths and giftings that we have. I think we need to get better at speaking out the strengths we see in others. I’m trying to get better at this and actually speaking out when I see someone excel at something!
Sometimes our giftings are so natural to us that we don’t even realize that it doesn’t come as easy to everyone else! If there is something that you feel comes really easy for you, so easy that you don’t even have to think that much while doing it, I think there is a gift there!
Growing in your passion and using the gifts God has placed in your life is such a life-giving experience!
A Part Of Something Greater
We are all a part of something bigger! It is really good that we try to find other people that have the same kind of longing. Together we are always stronger. We were not meant to do life alone. God wants to bring people into your life that have the same kind of vision as you.
Taking time to seek God is also very valuable! I think we need to let growing in our understanding of what God has in his heart for us take time and learn to enjoy the process.
You are amazing! You are made in a wonderful way! God wants to use you! He is so happy to see you longing to grow in your passion and calling!
I guess you found this blog post because you are thinking about what your purpose in life is. Know that your life is so purposeful!
Bible Verses About Purpose
“For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.”
Colossians 1:16
I think that we sometimes think a lot about purpose when we need to make decisions in life about what career to choose or make some other big decision but I think our purpose is so much more profound.
God created this earth and all who lives in it. Being God’s creation and being created for Him is a big part of our purpose.
I don’t know if you are anything like me but I have sometimes had a hard time seeing that we are valuable because of who we belong to not because of what we do.
So when we talk about purpose I think it is important to remember who we are and who we belong to. Our purpose comes from being created by God in his image.
Discovering What We Like To Do
With that said it is also fun and exciting to discover more about what God has placed in each of us.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:10
You have a place to fill on this earth at this exact time that no one else can fill.
Let’s keep on encouraging each other and growing together in the things God is calling us into!
“There is a time for everything,
Ecclesiastes 3:1
and a season for every activity under the heavens:”
Depending on the season we live in, the way that we get to bless the people around us differs.
These last few years I have been a stay-at-home mom and my schedule has looked very different compared with other seasons.
There is s season for everything.
