Free Crochet Coaster Patterns (Easy, Beginner-Friendly & Stylish)

The first crochet coaster pattern in the blog post above is a good beginner project, I would say, as I consider myself a beginner as well.

These coasters are really simple to make. I spent a few hours crocheting coasters in different colors. I used a thin cotton yarn, so I used two strands of yarn to make the coasters a bit more sturdy.

In the blog post linked above, they suggest using cotton yarn, and I would say that is a really good option. You could also choose a yarn made from wool but cotton is easy to clean if you would have to do that at some point.

But I don’t see that as a failure. Knitting and crocheting are both such fun ways to be creative. But I have to say that I have so much more experience with knitting than crocheting. I have so much more to learn when it comes to different crocheting techniques.

And when it comes to crocheting, I sometimes feel like I don’t really know what I don’t know. I don’t know what things I need to learn.

One Thing All Crocheters Need to Learn

This summer, I discovered one thing that is just so cool! When I realized that this was something you could crochet, I felt like, how did I not know about this before??

And that is the magic loop!

Everything I know about crocheting, I learned in school when I was a child. And I understand that during those few hours when we focus on learning the basics of crocheting, the time is so limited that teaching things like magic loops isn’t prioritized.

But… you know when you find this really cool thing and you just wonder why no one told you about it before? That is the feeling I had when I learned that you can crochet magic loops.

How to Crochet a Magic Loop
