Bible Verses On The Father’s Love

graphic with leaves and the Bible verse 1 John 3:1

”See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. ”

1 John 3:1-2

When I realized that God sees me as His daughter it totally changed the way I related to Him. When we understand that God sees us as sons and daughters, not as slaves or servants, our relationship to him gets so much deeper. Living in sonship is so powerful.

I have also understood that we can know a lot of things about God without really knowing Him. We can know a lot of things about a person but it is only when we start spending time with them that we truly get to know them.

Same thing works with God. We can know a lot of things about him but only when we spend time with him, reading his word, praying and letting him reveal thing to us we start to have a relationship with him.

Predestined For Adoption Through Jesus Christ

Graphic with leaves and the Bible verse Ephesians 1:5

”For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.”

Ephesians 1:4-6

“In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ,” Because of God’s love for us we are adopted to sonship, not through the things we do but because of his love and grace.

God’s love for us is unconditional.

”So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.”

Galatians 3:26-27

”Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.”

John 1:12-13

Through faith, we become children of God! To ALL who receive him and believe in his name, he gave the right to become His children. The choice is ours!

In Love, He predestined us for adoption by grace! God doesn’t see us as His sons and daughters because we are perfect and serve him so well! God’s love for us is unconditional.

So we never need to try deserving the Father’s love! Unconditional love can’t be deserved! It’s freely given!

”But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.

Galatians 4:4-7

God sent the spirit of his Son into our hearts! The Spirit calls out ”Abba, Father.” From deep within us, our spirit calls out ”Abba, Father.”. We long for a relationship to God as our Father.

This longing can only be fulfilled by being in an intimate relationship with him. Longing to be close to our Father is part of our design.

”For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”

Romans 8:14-17
