I am a mom of three children, 6, 3, and 1 year old. Motherhood has been a journey. It has been beautiful. But it has also been challenging in ways I never expected.
There have been so many times when I have felt like it’s hard to even just stay at the surface. All the emotions that toddlers express, the conflict between siblings, and the amount of messes that are made every day have been overwhelming.
Before becoming a mom, I had no idea of what motherhood actually looked like. I had no idea. I am the youngest of four sisters so I really didn’t have any idea of what I got myself into.
I kind of wish I would have been better prepared but at the same time, it feels like this is one thing that I just have to learn step by step as every new season of motherhood unfolds.
One of the things that I used to love before becoming a mother, was to wake up and to have some uninterrupted time with God. I really just loved starting the day by reading his word and be in prayer and doing some journaling.
This has been a hard habit to keep on doing as a mom. But every time I have carved out time for reading the Bible and praying, it has been so fruitful.
In Psalm 33 it says that the word of the Lord is right and true; He is faithful in all he does.
I am convinced that when we read his word, when we are filling our minds with what is right and true, we will harvest things that are really good.
God is faithful in all He does.
What We Sow, We Will Reap
A Bible verse that I have been reminded of these last weeks is in Galatians Chapter 6.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
Galatians 6:9-10
What we sow, we will reap.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” As I said earlier, life as a mom feels very overwhelming some days.
Some days it feels like the things that we try to teach our kids don’t really stick. Now with our kids being so small it is hard to see the fruit of what we are teaching them. Those days it’s nice to remember that we shouldn’t become weary about doing good. At the proper time we will reap what we sow.
