Gifts To Knit – Easy Knitting Ideas

Giving someone a gift that you have knitted yourself can be a fun way to give someone a more personal gift. So here come some ideas on gifts you can knit that aren’t that time-consuming.

DIY gift ideas can bea time-consuming, so the ideas on gifts to knit that are included in this blog post are all knitting projects that are quite easy and fast to make.

Here is a list of several gift ideas to knit:

  1. Cup holders
  2. Hats
  3. Mittens
  4. Socks
  5. Dishcloths
  6. Scarves

Knitted Cup Holders As a Gift

Knitting cup holders is one of the fastest knitted gift ideas I have tried. Many years ago, I knitted several cup holders and gave them away as Christmas gifts for friends and family. A knitted cup holder can easily be part of a gift basket and make it more personal.

You could buy some tea or coffee and a nice cup, together with a knitted cup holder, which makes a really cozy gift. So to all you cozy-appreciating friends, this could be perfect!

I don’t have any images from the cup holders I knitted, unfortunately, but you can find many ideas on Pinterest on how to knit them.

Knitted Hats Make an Easy Gift

Hats can be really easy to knit and don’t take much time at all to make, especially if you choose a pattern that isn’t that detailed.

I published my favorite hat knitting pattern here on the website last year. I have learned that the basic knitted items are the ones I use the most. Here you can find a link to that knitting pattern: https://underbartskapad.com/how-to-knit-a-hat-with-circular-needles/

This hat is knitted on circular needles or five double-pointed needles, so depending on how much experience you have as a knitter, this knitting project could be a little tricker than the cup holder. But if you have some experience with circular needles or double-pointed needles, this knitting project is a fast one to make as well.

If you want to give a knitted hat to a toddler, this knitting pattern is perfect for that: https://underbartskapad.com/knitting-pattern-easy-hat-for-1-3-year-olds/

Easy Mitten Knitting Patterns

We have published several mitten knitting patterns on this blog. All of them are a little different. If you want to knit some really simple ones, this knitting pattern is recommended: https://underbartskapad.com/knitting-pattern-mittens-for-kids-1-2-years/

If you want to try some color work knitting, here is a link to some snowflake mittens. Depending on the yarn you choose, you can knit these mittens for kids or adults.

Socks

Socks are the item that I have gifted most times. I think we Finns are especially fond of knitted socks. I use knitted socks a lot during the winter months. Winters get really cold in Northern Europe, so giving socks to someone, I know they will come in good use.

On our website, we have published several sock knitting patterns. If you want to knit socks for a baby, follow this link: https://underbartskapad.com/knitting-pattern-baby-socks/

If you want to knit some basic socks for adults, here is a link to a basic sock pattern: https://underbartskapad.com/things-to-knit-with-scrap-yarn-striped-socks/

Dishcloths

If you are looking for a really easy knitting project to give as a gift, dishcloths would be a really good idea. Dishcloths can be knitted on two needles and are easy and fast to knit. Scarves

I once crocheted a scarf for my mom as a Christmas present. More experience in gifting scarves I don’t have. But scarves can be quite an easy project, depending on the scarf you choose to knit, of course.

But as scarves are something that you can knit for many years, I think it definitely would be a great gift idea for someone you know who really likes to wear scarves.

Soo.. that was the list of gifts to knit that I would recommend trying if you are thinking about knitting something for someone. I hope you will find something really nice to knit and that the person you give the gift to will enjoy it for many years.

We hoep you are doing really well and as always welcome you back soon for more creative inspiration. These coming weeks will be quite knitting related when it comes to the theme for the blog posts coming up, up so hope to see you soon again.

Blessings from us
