Birthdays have taken on a whole new level as I became a mom. It is such a joy to see the huge excitement that our kids have around birthdays.

Of course, I guess every child is excited about presents and having a party, so it’s no big surprise that that is something that they look forward to a long time. 😀

It is very fun to celebrate someones life. As a parent I also feel like just completing another year of parenting is worth celebrating. Parenting is so rewarding but at the same time very challenging!

So, I want to remember to also be grateful for another year that we have shared together when our child has done a lot of growing but also, we as parents have learnt a lot and hopefully became a little wiser for the years to come.

How to Make the Birthday Child Feel Loved

Preparing for a birthday can also look very different from home to home.

In our home we always try to keep things quite simple. We sure want our children to feel loved and seen, but at the same time we do not do a lot of themed birthday decorations and things like that. Just to keep things more simple.

So, how then should we celebrate the birthday of our loved ones? The way that children prefer to celebrate differs form child to child and also what age they are in. So I guess there is now special way to do it.

One thing though that always is fun to do is writing some words to the birthday boy or girl. Making a personal Birthday card and writing down some encouraging words, a Bible verse or a prayer is something that they can save a look back on later on.
