Close to where we live, we have a small forest with oaks. These oak trees often have squirrels jumping around in the branches.
It is really interesting for our kids to see and follow. We can see them from our living room window as they are jumping around. They seem to me quite active right now. I guess they are preparing for winter.
These squirrels change the color of their fur when the summer turns into winter. In the summer they look red-brown-ish and as the weather gets colder they have more gray fur.
Squirrels are really cute so that’s why I decided to make some coloring pages. Ever since our oldest daughter saw me starting to make these, she has been asking for them. I hope you will have fun coloring these as well!

Different Ways to Color
These coloring pages are quite easy to color as they don’t have a lot of details. So even younger kids can color them with no problem.
If you want to make it more challenging you can try out different techniques in how to make the fur look realistic. That would be a very fun challenge.
One way that you could try to color the fur is by using watercolor colored pencils. That way you can go in after you are done coloring with some water and make the colors blend into each other.
Coloring Pages for Different Ages
Here in our home, we like to sit down around the kitchen table to do some coloring quite often. Coloring is an activity that I have enjoyed for as long as I can remember. So I guess it’s no surprise that I want to do that with my children. You can never be too old to find it very relaxing to color. 😉
If you, like us sometimes do coloring together as a family, but you have kids of different ages, you can choose different kinds of coloring pages that fit each and every one.
On this website, you can find coloring pages with thicker lines a fewer details that are suitable for younger kids and then there are also some coloring pages with thinner lines and more details that can be a fun challenge even for those with more experience from coloring.
